Price Review - Overview
GAWB is committed to ensuring that
the region’s short and long-term water needs are met in ways
that are commercially, socially and environmentally sustainable.
The 2010 price review plays an important role in ensuring that GAWB can meet these objectives.
The 2010 price
review is the third review conducted by the Queensland
Competition Authority (QCA) on GAWB’s pricing practices. The
last review of GAWB’s prices occurred in 2005. It follows the
issue of a Referral Notice from the Premier and Treasurer (QCA
Ministers) on 14 August 2009, instructing that the review takes
place.
GAWB, as a
commercial bulk water supplier, supplies major industrial
customers in the Gladstone region and Gladstone Regional Council
(GRC). GRC is responsible for supplying residential, commercial
and some industrial customers.
The outcomes
of the 2010 price review will define prices for GAWB’s
customers for the period 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2015.
