The Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) recognises the vital contribution that individuals and community organisations make to the economic, environmental and social wellbeing of the Gladstone community and has established a Sponsorship Program to support community initiatives that align with our vision and values.  Sponsorship may be in cash, services or other in-kind support.

Our Sponsorship Framework provides you with an overview of the application process, criterial and eligibility.  GAWB currently has one grant option available:

Before applying please ensure you have.

  • Read GAWB’s Sponsorship Framework
  • Your event is is eligible for sponsorship
  • Completed all sections of the Sponsorship Application Form
  • Included a copy of your Public Liability Insurance (not required for individuals)

General Sponsorship Program

GAWB’s General Sponsorship Program aims to provide funding from an established budget to individuals and/or community groups in support of local communities, events and initiatives. There is no limit to the funding requested and applications are open all year round.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • Public Interest
  • Corporate Identify
  • Community Engagement
  • Water Supply
  • Catchment Management
  • Water quality
  • Environmentally Sustainable Behaviour

Events at Awoonga Dam

Whether you or your Club would like to hold an event at the Recreation Area, or on or around the lake itself, GAWB is happy to discuss your options.

Please complete an Application to Hold Event at Lake Awoonga and submit it to GAWB at least 3 months before your planned event.

Please note that if your event is an Aquatic Event, application must also be made to Maritime Safety Queensland:
