Gladstone Area Water Board recognises the vital contribution individuals and community organisations make to the economic, environmental and social wellbeing of the Gladstone community. GAWB has established a sponsorship program to support community initiatives which align with our vision and values. Sponsorship may be financial, services or other in-kind support.

Our Sponsorship Framework provides you with an overview of the application process, criterial and eligibility. 

Before applying for a sponsorship, please ensure you have:

  • read GAWB’s Sponsorship Framework
  • confirmed your event is eligible for sponsorship
  • completed all sections of the Sponsorship Application Form
  • included a copy of your Public Liability Insurance (not required for individuals).

GAWB sponsorship criteria in a snapshot

GAWB aims to provide support to individuals and community groups which meet the below criteria. Applications will be assessed as they are submitted. 

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • public interest
  • corporate identify
  • community engagement
  • water supply
  • catchment management
  • water quality
  • environmentally sustainable behaviour.

Events at Lake Awoonga 

Do you or your club want to hold an event at Lake Awoonga?

Please complete an Application to Hold Event at Lake Awoonga and submit it to GAWB at least three months before your planned event.

Please note if your event is aquatic ie on the lake, an application must also be made to Maritime Safety Queensland:
