Gladstone Area Water Board has your school holiday itinerary sorted – complete our Scavenger Hunt, try out the new swimming pontoons and have relaxing picnic at the recently expanded Riverston Bay recreation area.
While you are out at Lake Awoonga, there’s one more exciting thing to do – visit the Aquaculture Gladstone Interpretive Display.
For the school holidays only – and because of high public demand, we will be open seven days a week over the school holidays – which start on Saturday 14 September and run until Sunday 29 September.
We will be open from 9am to 3pm each day.
If you plan your day right, you’ll even be able to see us feed the fish in the interpretive display – including the fully grown Barramundi. Fish feeding is at 11am each day.
So come down and see our educational display, watch the incredibly rare Golden Barramundi and White Barramundi, and say hello to our Aquaculture Gladstone volunteers.
Supporting the Aquaculture Gladstone team, our volunteers educate visitors about hatchery operations, fingerling production, Lake Awoonga and more.
