Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts or passionate green thumbs, the horticulture trainee will learn how to maintain and beautify our five recreational areas and surrounding green spaces.
You will learn how to grow, manage and landscape a diverse array of plants, install reticulation systems, coordinate gardening resources in line with GAWB’s Open Space Maintenance Management Plan and contribute to landscaping improvement projects.
Along with hands on experience, you will also attend classroom sessions to receive a Certificate III in Horticulture.
This is a two-year traineeship delivered in partnership with MRAEL.
This role drives organisational change including business processes, technologies, organisational structures, job roles and system changes.
The Change Lead prepares GAWB for change to ensure maximum benefit and mitigate negative impacts to staff and external customers.
You will implement change management strategies to ensure adoption and address any resistance.
This is a three-year contract which can be based in Gladstone or Brisbane.
Tertiary qualifications in business, human resources, organisational development or relevant industry experience in change management is essential.
This role supports the daily operations of the Aquaculture Gladstone fish hatchery, where more than one million Barramundi, Mangrove Jack and Sea Mullet fingerlings are produced each year.
Day-to-day tasks include brood stock management, live prey production, larval rearing and nursery activities to ensure GAWB achieves its production objectives.
Qualifications in aquaculture, marine science or a related discipline are essential, along with demonstrated experience working with fin fish.

Concentis is partnering with GAWB to source a Project Manager – Pre-Contracts to join GAWB’s Capital project’s team.
The Project Manager plays a pivotal role within the team, and is responsible for front-end development, implementation of regulation and process-improvement initiatives, along with customer and stakeholder management.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in project management or project implementation, proven understanding of methodologies, tools and governance, and a working knowledge of project/ contract administration and cost control.
To meet increasing customer demand from the emerging hydrogen industry, GAWB needs to expand its trunk raw water network.
To achieve this outcome, they are currently seeking three Project Managers. Two of these project management roles will lead the design phase of projects valued at more than $250 million.
The other Project Manager role will focus on the front-end engineering design (feasibility and business cases) for duplication of the existing network.
These positions will initially be needed on a 12-month basis, with high potential for extension as the project gets underway.
A degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline is essential.
Reporting to the General Manager – Hydrogen, the Commercial Manager will provide strategic, tactical and commercial advice and support for GAWB’s hydrogen program.
The position will interface with customers and water seekers, the project team, advisors and external parties to ensure robust commercial outcomes are achieved.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated commercial management experience on capital infrastructure projects with strong commercial acumen and impeccable communication skills, particularly in a government setting.
A degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction or Law is essential.
GAWB is seeking two Land and Approvals Advisors – Hydrogen to support GAWB’s expanding hydrogen program.
These positions will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to enable all land, statutory approvals and access issues relating to hydrogen projects. Accountabilities will include resolving the tenure and approval requirements for Stage 1 hydrogen infrastructure projects, including 10km of two new pipelines, two reservoirs and a pump station($200M+).
The ideal candidate has substantial knowledge of land tenure including reserves, freehold, leasehold, secondary interests and the application of relevant legislation.
The Water Operator provides operational assistance in the daily functioning of GAWB’s two water treatment plants and water delivery networks.
The position is responsible for routine tasks like asset inspection and minor maintenance tasks to ensure plant reliability. The water operators ensures treated water meets Australian Drinking Water Guidelines criteria, thereby providing safe drinking water to the community.
